I ask time and time again, why don't they listen to our stories and look at their own pits with a heightened level of fear? Why do their own dogs matter more than their children? And that is what it boils down to in the end, perhaps them having to look at their own child's scarred face and know they are to blame...the only explanation, something in their brain doesn't fire correctly.
I first read this about seven years ago, and it still gives me chills. Beautiful.
The accompanying image of baby and mutant is very unsettling, to say the least :( Why would someone even consider putting their precious child, their own flesh and blood, within 100 feet of these things? Where's the protective instinct? I really don't get it.
